Art & Inspiration How about a 1957-1958 Ford thread?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Jan 6, 2016.

  1. Great thread you got rolling Chris. As everything else you tackle, I'm sure your 58 will be no exception!

  2. Here are a few pics I've collected over the years.

That ranchero is nice. Almost worth making this thread include the 59 too... (Plus so I can get some ideas for my ranch wagon)

  7. Great looking '58, RARI947. That's pretty much the rake I'm shooting for on my '57 after I get my front springs sorted out.. How much drop do you have along the rockers?

been driving this beater for 6 months now, came with a 390/c6. halfway through replacing the door and window weatherstripping right now, wishing I had left good enough alone IMAG1932.jpg

  10. Thanks...nice compliment. It's been great to finally drive it after 10 years! put 5-600 miles on it this week. LOL, pretty soon I'm going to have to get back to finishing it!

I am a member but being I have a 58 I do more lurking than posting. Driving them is the fun part! I'd have a hard time getting back to wrenching on it instead of driving it too.

    Thanks scrap metal

  13. Lots of '58 owners there also, not a problem. I have to get back to fixing mine sooner than expected..lost both the power steering and the power brakes today

Doesn't get any better than a SOHC in a 57.

Dad and his brand new Coral Sand & White '57 might be fun to build one like it someday

I've loved '57 Fords since I was a kid. Always thought they looked better than Chevies, could never understand the '57 chevy obsession. When I was 11, my best friends older brother had a metallic purple '57 Ranchero with a y-block, stick and big daddys. Cool stuff.

I am a Hot Rod Guy, but this Custom is drop dead Gorgeous, they found a perfect balance with the design to my old eyes. :)

image.jpeg Nice thread! My 57 Ranchero is pretty original, 292 Y block manual with overdrive. I like what was done with this Ranch Wagon I found on line. I'm going to add the Y block emblems to my fenders some day.
