Below is a link to the video of Kurt McCormick personally telling the history of the Rod and Custom Dream Truck from the ba*****t of his home. This was taken by me during the Posies Driven Dirty tour stop at his house.
... very cool ! You look at the induction setup on his roadster too ? ( ... the yeller' one ) Always loved that one. Every ba*****t should be so lucky. Thanks for posting !
I remember watching that truck come together over a few years in R&C magazine and the most unfortunate accident in Kansas, I believe. Seem to recall hearing it was rebuilt awhile back, but did not know it was in St Louis. I also seem to recall that Kurt McCormick used to drag race at Mid America Raceways (MAR no longer exists) back in the '60s/'70s....had a white Buick Riviera I think. Been awhile...may have that part incorrect. Thanks for posting the video. Ray
We were lucky enough to be invited to visit with Kurt late last year thinking this will take an hour or so. But we were there much much longer. A real nice guy who is happy to share his p***ion for old hot rods and customs. A visit we will always remember.
Won't find a nicer hot rod guy than Kurt. Watch for an episode of "My Cl***ic Car" with Dennis Gage featuring the Dream Truck and the yellow roadster later this month. It was filmed last fall and is part of the 2016 season on MAV-TV (I believe). Here is a link to the episode on the My Cl***ic Car home site: http://www.mycl***iccar.com/episode/20/04/
I was lucky enough to be able to spend a weekend around Kurt and the Dream truck at the Chevy GMC truckin Nationals in Ogden in 1982 and got to listen in on his stories on the truck and take a ton of photos that I can't seem to find lately.
