It's still a fight. Not over til it's over. Your first shot at killing the stuff is the important one, so find out who is the best specialist hospital in your area...like Sloane Kettering would be up here...and demand nitromethane. You can win time, and you might just win.

  2. Larry, sorry to hear the bad news keep your chin up mate, I am sure all HAMB members are thinking of you.

I didn't have the heart to tell her you all and Ryan were just a bunch of hoodlums

There are many people praying here in NWA, a lot of whom are not even hotrodders. I'll be back (in Arnold Schwarzenegger voice) to help and encourage any way I can. If you need some company, some extra hands to work on something, whatever, it's a short drive. Plus, Tulsa has the secret cancer-fighting food that no other place has: Coneys, and they even have a new Coney I-Lander in Owasso, close and convenient.

Larry I am a Street Rodder so I don't post on here much. I am glad to read your opinions on a lot of stupid posts. You always say what I am thinking. Keep a Positive outlook and you can beat it. Now if you need help putting Billet Wheels or Billet dash inserts in your truck just let me know. Keep the faith brother and you can beat it.

Cancer is not a death sentence. I was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer in December. Getting ready for chemo round #3. We'll both beat it, definitely praying for you on this end.

  13. Larry, Best wishes from me in Perth Western Australia.. I got the lieomyosarcoma diagnosis 14 mths ago.. Cut a whack out my back and have all the tests etc every 3 months, as it is a rare breed of mongrel.. sneak attacks the kidneys and liver like bad grog lol... Last tests ok, but discovered a 26mm growth appear on my kidney last scan, so going for the ultrasound in the morning..Not worried as the doc tells me I have a spare kidney on the other side, so I guess we will just plumb a spate line & stick in a fuel tap to make it work a bit more I'm a speedway nut and love the HAMB, so hang in there big fella because the mongrel dog of a thing can be beaten..Best wished & God speed you to a fast recovery ..

    Question for the day;
Do you have to like cats to be a hot rodder, or do you have to like hot rods to have a cat???

Hey Larry, very sorry to hear the bad news.I got my cancer diagnosis at the beginning of last summer. My wife and i did as much research as we could until we felt comfortable with the doctor we chose.I am now recovering from the resulting surgery.Prognosis is good but who knows? I'm back to work on my 32 5 window on a limited basis and life is good.Cancer or not, none of us know how many days we have left so i'm not counting, just enjoying today while i have it. Best of luck and like so many others,my prayers are with you.Bob

    Some librarian stuff:
First, get fired up to resist. Job one.
Second...start learning as much as you can, primarily so you can intelligently question the doctors...why are you using this and not that, what about the side effects of this, etc. If your questions are informed and pertinent (or informed and impertinent, actually) they are under pressure to keep you in the loop and not treat you as a moron to pour meds into.
A starting place is Medline Plus from the national Library of Medicine:
    https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/
You can search from clickable lists in the topics section and also put in searches like "lung cancer and lymphatic."
Capture all big words used by the doctors and lookemup in the tools section, do searches for articlea about them too.
There is a drug section...read up on everything they give you, read all the side effects stuff. This part is good terrorism because few doctors have kept up with reading the material...

I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer. I also think that eating clean and going as far as eliminating meat could help. Pea based proteins, fresh vegetables and fruits as the main source of your nutrition will help give your body the platform it needs to put up the fight. Secondly I have heard good things about cannabis oils for helping the body against things like this. Nothing is out of bounds when you are fighting this kind of fight. You got this big guy!

Next...tech article on fighting cancer with Marvel Mystery Oil and Nitromethane!

    Another hunt for info tip:
    try advanced google https://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en
Advanced allows you to set a domain... .org is very useful. Line for that down below main screen.
if you put as I did lung cancer on the phrase line and lymphatic on top line, you first get a bunch of potentially useful regular sites...then you start getting the benefits of the .org setting as you get into organizations of specialized doctors and nurses, THEN organizations of patients, families, and survivors, people who have been through a lot and who have collected a lot of information to discuss. People you can contact who have already learned a lot.

Just before I joined and in my first year here, there were a handful of members that stood out and you were one of them. Since thousands of other members here have never met you in person, myself included, all we have to go by is what you post here to tell what kind of a person you are. I think you are a guy that when some one first meets you and shakes your hand, they can start right in with the wise cracks and jabs, and not feel they are stepping over the line, and you just give it right back and you both laugh. :)

It was hard to even imagine a place like this in our younger years, well some of us, there are many who grew up in the tech. world. For good or bad it's here, and it does make it possible for things like this, the many good wishes and positive banter sent your way with a few strokes of a key board. There are comments here from around the world as well as some newer members, that speaks to the respect and appreciation we have for you. Stay positive and if your day isn't going well check back in on this thread or just remember your many HAMB friends are thinking about you.
