The '66 Mustang rear shocks are stud/stud style.

I dont think the overall length makes a big differnce i dont want to go super high with it maybe like an 1 to 1-1/2 thats all and only when driving i will lower it when at a cruise nite or show....

Take one shock off and go to a good parts store, with some knowledgeable employees (everybody should know of at least one in your town), and have them spec it. I just bought a set of Monroes for my '55 Poncho, for the same reason. Also, bought an onboard compressor, from Jegs ($110.00), so I can air the shocks up going down the road if needed. Well worth the bucks, and it cost me less than 2 Bills.

JCWhitney sells the whole set up for $170. Shocks, compressor, controller. spring a few extra bucks for the monroe shocks.
