    Hi All,
I searched the boards and my 1953 Body, Trim and Sealant ***embly manual and haven't found a solution to removing the stainless trim that continues from the dash.
It looks like metal tabs are folded over after inserting but I can't get anything in to unfold. I'm thinking to grind the top of the fold off and rebend the tabs after repainting. If anyone knows a better way, I'd appreciate it. I thought thriftmaster was asking the same thing but I looked at the pictures of his merc and it doesn't have this piece so I guess he was asking about the outside stainless trim.
    Thanks

    Ron53Sunliner,
Just an Idea, but I think you just Turn the Tab 90 degrees or 180 degrees & it will Fit thru the Hole.
Check the Length of the Tab & the Hole Size that you can See on each Side of the Tab or on the other Side.

You nailed it. Twisting the tabs turned the little grippers in line with the SS.
    Thanks
