Here's three minutes of viewing that you won't regret.

I found these on Youtube. They are older video's from 2008. Anybody know more about the car? I think I might know the owner's brother, but not sure if it is the same car. If it is the car I recall it's an injected smallblock. Looks like maybe a high 7 low 8 second p***es.

Yes it is. Pretty severe channel and I suspect it was higher in the nose in its previous life

I just found this thread. Here are more pictures from that day, it was the first time the 34 has drag raced since the mid-1980's. The car is actually painted a brown metal flake so looks gold in the sun, but this is the same paint as it always had. It was mainly raced in Belle Fourche when they still had a track, and did indeed go to Marion every year, and Julesburg, CO occasionally. It ran in the 9's in the quarter. Enjoy:

BTW, these runs were in the 7s but he never stayed on it for the whole 1/8 mile. He is planning on selling it since I won't ever race it.

  15. I had forgotten about this car but thought I had seen it a couple years ago at the car show in primer? Then this year it was brown. Has there been a repaint?

Tman, must be a different car, this one is still brown, and still together.

Wish I wasn't up to my eyes in cars...... This would be fun at the HAMB drags.

  17. Pretty Damm Cool, Jim Is a good friend of mine I have known about this car since way back when he built it. One wild *** car when it is in full throttle, it gets real wild. It's a bummer he is going to sell it, it will be one less of our local history car cause it will probably be sold out of state like a lot of the local history car around here end up, that's the part about South Dakota I hate, hopefully someone around here will buy it and it can stay here where it belongs.

I'd like to see it in the next state over in my garage! I hope that whomever get's it respects it race lineage.

My Dad is hoping to sell it to a local guy, someone that has wanted it since he was a kid. I don't know if he plans to change anything. If he plans on racing it again, he will have to as I am sure ti is not even close to current safety regulations. I have some great memories of this car & am so happy to know that others do too!

  20. Very cool, that would be great if it stays here, keep us posted on what happens with the car and tell Jim Hey From Tony.

Just dropping by with an update: Dad did NOT sell the 34, he decided to keep it. Last summer he took it up to JD Bell's Boar's Nest for show & shines.

  22. Yes, was there and talked to Jim and checked it out again, good to here that he is going to keep it, if I had the money I surly would like to be the guy to keep it here where it belongs instead of it going to somebody the would totally change it and it would then be just another lost drag car. Tony

Tony, glad to hear you guys caught up to each other! I will try to upload some pix and/or videos. Dad was pretty happy to see the YouTube video had over 20,000 views. ☺

I had a buddy named Troy Bear that I grew up with in Piedmont. Im sure Jim was his uncle because I remember being in Jr./Sr. high and Troy talking about his Uncle that had an old drag car.

Troy is my cousin! Dad drag raced the 34 until sometime in the mid-1980s. Small world, isn't it?!?

My dad, Jim Lee, has decided that he may be interested in selling the 34 Ford. I wanted it, but honestly can't do it justice if it just sits. I thought I would start here to see if there is any interest. You can PM me
