HRP, Hope for good news on friday, we hope for quick recovery

 

My right shoulder is a mess. Partial thickness rotator cuff tear, need a distal clavical re-section, have a 360-degree gleno-humeral tear, bursa sac may have to go, general arthritis. I'm getting by with it and PT really helped it. Actually it was prehabbed, I was planning on surgery and did so well I skipped it.

 

This! Prehab is critical. I would love to see a push for shoulder, lowerback, and knee prehab to be more commonplace.

I just had thumb joint replacement in December. Recovery is slow for me. I hope yours is faster.

 

I was lucky to get a good shoulder surgeon. I had a few cortisone shots as well. he was the one that recommended PT for me.

 

Cant imagine those shots. Must hurt.

I had my first series of shots by an orthopedic guy that came into my PC doctor's office once a week. It helped immediately and I was back in the gym the next day, but the pain and loss of motion crept back in. He did an x-ray and was practically reaching for a scalpel as we talked.

That's when I went to someone good. I had to wait a few weeks for an MRI (cortisone shots muddy up the MRI) and got a real diagnosis. The shots weren't that bad. They used ultrasound to put them in the best spots.

 

Sorry to hear this HRP. Sounds like a really bad break. I wish you the best of luck with the procedures and the healing process.

 

I met with the second orthopedic surgeon today and I am scheduled for surgery on the 25th of February.

Doctor Murry specializes in shoulder replacements all over the Upstate of South Carolina and works in Anderson only on Thursdays.

He worked it out with another patient to work me in,hurry up and wait.

He did fit me for a new sling which is a lot more comfortable. Danny
