I have adapted 1946 brakes to a Model A rear axle and I've welded the steel rings on the inside of the hub with the aluminum block in place on each one. I had a machine shop rotate and re-drill the backing plates to clear the spring perch. There must be a bolt circle difference of about 1/16" between the v8 holes and the Model A holes. Would someone advise whether to bore the axle holes larger or slot the holes in the housing. Thanks, Glynn.
