I've got a 27 model t roadster, original Henry Ford steel. I'm not sure what you call the rear portion of the body that the turtle deck sits on, rear subframe?? Even though it's part of the body, rear rocker? Hopefully you know what I'm referring to. Anyways I have it sitting at a stance I like, but the rear end only has a few inches of up travel before it would come into contact with that part of the rear deck pan( or whatever the correct term is). I don't want to notch it, nor crinkle it up! Can I get away with putting hydraulic bump stops in, or are my only options notching or raising the ride height? It's not a daily driver, so I'd be willing to give a little of the travel away if I could keep the stance as is and use the bump stops. Thanks
Sorry I'm revisiting this old thread, just looking for some opinions. Ideally, notching the rear subframe for more clearance with the diff would be ideal. But it's painted, original Henry Ford steel etc. so that's kind of out of the question. I can raise the suspension to make it work, but I love the stance now. Would bump stops work for my application? I know the ride wouldn't be Caddy like, but this isn't a cross country, daily driver. What are your thoughts?
