Was wonderin if someone could photoshop my brothers 60 Pontiac he bought it in the fall and we are just about ready to start gettin in ready for spring. Lookin for some inspiration -- idea is to lose the handles suede black with the roof still white (maybe lace painted?) wide whites with gold wheels and spider caps with gold scallops.
Or just have at 'er! Interested in seeing the results.
    Thanks in advance guys.

It looks like a decent driver, and personally I would'nt do any of the stuff you've got planned. You might not want advice, but here's what I would do...

Start with getting the stance right, chrome reversed wheels (not smoothies) or astros. Narrow white stripe bias plys, if you don't want to spend money on chrome wheels just go with painted steelies & spider caps or chrome lugs.

Keep the color as it is, maybe add some sparkle to the roof. If your going with painted steelies you can have them "brown"?) to match the body or white sparkle as the roof, black would work to... Done!:D

Not my call on what happens to the car -- I feel about the same as you -- but its my brothers and his first older style car he was always into muscle cars mostly til now. I really doubt he would be into drivin it the way it is for long. He has an idea in his head how he wants it to look and all I am gonna do is help him.

I gotta agree with the masses here, flat black with shaved handles and such isn't going to improve the looks at all. I'd go with some chrome steel wheels, WWW's, and a good lowering. I bet if you buffed out the original paint it'd be pretty respectable yet.

If someone could photoshop it with the right wheel/tire combo and sitting on the ground, your brother might change his mind, and that would be a good thing. Bellflower tips would be nice on this one too.

I would have hade the whites thin...but I didn't have the time at the moment...it doesn't look too bad with wides though....

Those are really cool -- I really dig the green as well 1-shot but I am pretty sure he has his heart set on something with gold -- and I think he would shy away from the green as there is so much green on my olds, we're brothers -- be like dressing your kids in matching outfits!! The 60's style look is what he is goin for. I definatly have to say it should have bellflowers!

Cool! I like those -- I should clarify he's my older brother and isnt totally new to the whole car thing just hasnt had a real old one before. The 60's look is really cool -- I hate the fact GM put those rear pillars on the more doors really breaks the lines up.

  18. please don't chop it! good luck with the car those things look killer when done up.

  19. There are only two things in the world to do to a 4 door. One involves a crane with a big magnet.:D

I'll have to go work on the other. I'll be back.

OUCH! Some of my favorite cars (including mine!) are four doors!

  22. I did it was a utility wagon. I think they made a hardtop wagon back in that time period also. But don't hold me to it.

Here's the other thing to do to a more door. I'd stick with the stock color and maybe some light pin stripes. Maybe some chrome wheels and spyders or not.

You must either be an '80s kid or a lot older than me.:D We always considered the guys driveing 4 doors were driveing Mom's car or just weren't into cars at all for anything other than transportation.

that's not a slam, just that 4 doors were not to popular with guys from my age group.

Sell it for a 2 door. Sorry, but I mean it.The green car Brandy posted pics of and also the one in Graverobbers post are both truly bitchin cars. A 4 door 59 would allways be inferior to a 2 door due to the tall roofshape. It would make a cool driver as is , a good resto or maybe on its coolest a black FBI-style ride with dogdish caps and so on. If a kustom is the goal: Get a 2 door.

  26. Does not help your car, but you could get a four door hardtop, aka the flat-tops. They have small C-pillars with the wrap-around rear glass. No B-pillar.

Didnt mean to come off as though I was complaining or thought you were being out of line -- my OUCH! reply was my sarcasm and not meant to start a fight-- if anything I am in agreement -- when I said that some of my favorite cars were four doors I meant cars that my friends own -- check out some of Steevil's posts of his friend Dons Mopar more-door. I actually like 4-door hardtops in a lot of years (especiallly 58 olds:D ) and Cadillacs.
I am trying to be the helpful younger brother and show him some cool stuff that he can do with his car.
Hope no offence was taken none was meant or taken from this end. :)

Making a four door sedan into a two door sedan isn't that hard (see pic), assuming Pontiac made a two door sedan in '60 that you could harvest parts off of.

My new daily driver for the summer is a '55 Dodge four door sedan. Sure, I'd rather have a two door hardtop, but the price difference sucks. I couldn't buy a project '55 2dht for the money I have in my '55 4dsd and my car's done. Having a shitload of money in a car takes away from the fun of it sometimes.

The green scallop photoshop is my favorite, but I still think it would look nice with just a drop and the right wheels, and some Bellflowers. Paint it flat black and it's really gonna look like a poser-mobile.

I think if he wants something with gold....keep the brown, do gold wheels with caps, maybe flake the roof in gold or scallop it in gold.....like a big chocolate bar, but without the Oompa Loompas.:D

Check out Ragdoll's Pontiac.....it's a 4 door sedan *55* in brown and striped in gold......it's SEXY!!
