Event Coverage Billy Gibbons ZZTop Show and Car Show

Billy Gibbons and Jimmy Shine in Australia for some shows and it started on the Gold Coast with a show on Saturday night with Billy playing guitar and singing and an "on the couch" chat with our ex football star and general big mouth Jacko. I would have preferred more Billy singing and playing than Jacko being well Jacko.
Some nice cars on display outside the Gold Coast venue for the show and then a bigger show in Brisbane with over 350 cars(lots of OT HAMB cars not shown). A very hot day and burning up in the sun. Dragged on and I left when there was still at least an hour before presentations and it was already half an hour late.
Great turnout of cars and I got a photo with Billy at the show.

I was thinking the same thing....and it looks like someone has the market cornered on making the smallest fenders that mount closest to the tire

ZZ Top is coming to our area for a concert in the next couple of weeks and my two Sons and I are definitely going. That is one band I want to see.

The new show with Billy and Jimmy looks like it has promise.

Saw them at a short notice event with great seats. Didn't use them lol but close enough to see their eye lashes

 

Great shots of some beautiful machinery! Thanks for the share. For some reason the shots of Edsels really stood out. Don't think of them as being very common in Oz.

He had like a full blown show display going on there.

 

Our fender laws are pretty strict here. And lots of variety in how people approach it. I like the ones like on my roadster that are similiar to the old Ford spare wheel covers. Others do minimalist and paint them black to blend with the tyres.

 

That car was built by Dion at Adams Hot Rod Shop in Calhoun Georgia. He regularly goes over there and builds a car and this one was done right hand drive. He then drove it fresh across the USA and grabbed awards at some of the big events and at the Roadster Show last year I think. Uses a body with extended doors and cabin.
He recently built another one for his wife and that is here now also.

Edsels were never introduced in Australia and any that are here now are recent imports. I loved that station wagon
and it is one of the best I have seen here.
