Here's a couple I completed recently.

1960 Impala Sport Coupe in the works.
PPG 1960 Chevy "920 Suntan Copper" automotive acrylic lacquer over white "sandable primer". For the gloss-white roof I was using something else, hence the extensive masking work to avoid overlap between the two different types of paint.

 

OMG. That is simply incredible. I'm working my way through it and only reached the frame build so far. I can't believe what I'm seeing. Thanks for sharing that.

 

I sure did! I used Modelhaus Cragars, and the hubs are very long to get the wheels out to where they are supposed to be. The front axle is just one of the shortcomings in that kit.

Wow, Thanks for the heads-up NHRANUT, that's good work right there! I totally dig the way that Nova sits now!Short of access to wheels like that, I've been thinking of fabricating spacers (=pieces of tubing matching to the inner&outer diam. Of the kit wheel mounting bosses, essentially) to bring out the rims more to correct the track width.

If you have a good selection of styrene tubing, you will be able to work it out. It was easier for me since the resin wheels have no hubs at all, I could make long ones to begin with.
Have fun with the Novas, because once you work around all the poor aspects of the kit, the end product is worth it all.

 

This Willys is a Survivor from 1968/69, I think its the first one I ever built.

 

This one got me 4 first place best engine, best interior, best detail, best engineered.

I just love this car, the picture didn't turn out to good but the car sure did.

 

Thanks good looking models LOVE the Nova. Nice that you keep them forever too. have all mine from the 60s till now.

 

Will be posting a better picture of the Nova, part that bum's me out is pic's of their engine won't turn out, they are really detail engines, have to see if I can find someone with a better camera, and post those shots.

 

That's ok, if your like me I just go to the garage and snap some shots with my cell phone. I'm a HOT RODDER not photographer! ha. ha. I took a couple more.

Some more work on the green '61 Impala since last.
Foiling on the ext. Trim w/Bare Metal Foil. For best possible results, I'd like to highly advice using Your sharpest, freshest blade for trimming the excess at this point.

 

WOW !!! keep us posted that looks so good! I need to try a build and do the detail work that I see you guys doing on here. I'm learning a lot from this thread. Models are so much fun. you can do all the thing's you would love to do for real, like if I were Jay Leno, or a billon air.

 

Thank You for the kind words, Mr.Funkhouser. Yes Sir, I agree; The best aspect of this hobby is It's an avenue and outlet for all the various automotive ideas and inspiration without the economical/logistical -constraints of the 1:1 -world.

 

Here's another, long-time project from my vaults I found a few hrs to work on over the weekend. It's a '64 Petty Plymouth I bought at the time of the big JoHan closeout-sales at around 1990 I think. Been working on it on-and off for years. After finding the "right" -looking fire extinguisher left over from a Monogram Chevelle -kit and painting&detailing that, I glued that aft of the shifter on the floor, and all the rest of the interior (-seat+belts, dash+st.wheel and finally the cage-), "fell" right into place. Awaiting tucking of the interior tub&chassis inside of the body and axle-/wheel placement now.

 

What a good looking '37.
