I won't be racing the car ever. I won't even be launching hard at a green light. Lol. :)
I built up a 302 Jimmy 6 cyl with a 6-71 blower for my '40 chevy pu. I mated it to the original tranny and rear end. The guy I had build the engine said I was crazy and would shatter the tranny, rear end and prob the torque tube. That never happened... I think it has a lot to do with how the equipment(car) is treated.

The turbo 400 I split was in a heavy, hard leaving car with a 600+ hp BB that was clocking 1.50's, and seeing LOTS of track time, and street racing every weekend. It was replaced, and lasted a long time.

When I put the 283 in my '40 I made my own Hurst style front mounts. They a re not joined together. After five years of every day driving and abuse, I decided to put a 350TH in it. Not wanting to split the front wishbones, I solid mounted the back of the transmission. That was over twenty years ago and the bell housing hasn't cracked. I might add, it has a shift kit with a brutal 2nd gear shift. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
