Customs Im in Dallas Texas

Anybody on the HAMB that has a speed shop or custom shop open tomorrow? I might stick around til Monday. Is there any car show or small get together's I should stop by and see? Lets here a good place to eat. I like a bar and a BBQ. Don't make me go to Gas money Garage. Thanks for the input.

DON'T give in and go to GMG Bar & Grill. I'm not sure what part of Dallas you're in, but check and see if you're near a Hard 8. Great BBQ and it won't break you.

 

Hell you can be in Dallas and still be two hours from where you want to go in Dallas.

 

There is a swap in Decatur.

 

Agree with Hard 8 if your out by the DFW airport - are you more by downtown Dallas ? On Mockingbird at Harry Hines is a nice resale shop Texas Classic Auto's always has a wide variety of rides with a back lot/fence area that has some cool stuff....currently a nice 1958 Chevy Wagon Sonny Bryant's BBQ is right down the street at Inwood and Harry Hinds....

 

Ah yes, Sonny Bryant's... I remember eating from the old school, classroom desks.

 

Flying into airport

 

Better state which airport you are flying into..

 

DFW my ticket says

 

Plan on renting a car then,, DFW is miles from most points in Dallas...and a taxi would be cost prohibited.

 

Buying a O/T vehicle then driving home, so I can go anywhere I want

Well, if it's anywhere in the area, I'd strongly suggest The Smoke Pit in Ft. Worth. It's close to downtown Ft. Worth and not too far from the airport.

The car I was looking at sold last night now it's sight seeing until I find another

I know a guy who had a 3 hour layover a DFW and decided to rent a car to look around. He drove for an hour trying to find the way out of the airport before stopping to drop the car off and found that he was at the rental center at the other end of the airport.

 

Dear Gawd. RUN!

 

Engine man I feel his pain. Took me about a half hour to get out. I also found out they don't sell whiskey on Sunday's. Still thirsty. Car show was good.

You could always visit Brian Bass at Bass Kustoms and buy a T shirt or two

 

The Smoke pit is great food and smoking waitress

 

There is also a great BBQ place with 3 smokestacks.

 

I was thinking of flying into DFW for Lonestar.........might consider Houston instead if it's that bad!!
