Got the doors fitting and tacked together tonight. The a pillars didn't need much persuasion to get lined up,just 2 vertical slices and a little hammer work. Need to get the b pillars done and split the 1/4 to get everything lined up. It's not that bad at all
Well here are the makings of a new thread... Still have to finish up my T but should be seeing this in my shop tomorrow night. Project 30 Tudor sedan on deuce rails for the father in law... Should be a pretty fun time
I just want to do this one and make a really bitchin traditional style hot rod. Just simple timeless stuff. Nothing like my T! Haha Open to opinions on a color. I can't really decide I would like a grey a few shades above primer but glossy or maybe a brownish color. Hell I don't know. Haha
What are the plans for power train? Chopped or not? Wheels and tires? Full fendered? Curious people want to know.
He has a fresh little 283 so Probably a 283 hopefully with tri power and probably just a turbo 350. I'm hoping to find some wires for it either red or black depending on what color we do the body. I would love to chop it but I'm still in the process of my model T chop and it really isn't as fun as I thought! Haha when we get a roller and get a visual we will decide to chop or not. I have a lot of fun building these things.
I'm looking forward to this build! If this I'd gonna be a high boy, will you drop and channel the grill to counteract your T coupe. Lol. All kidding aside. Except for the grill , I really like what you did! I like your dad's truck, so I see no reason why I shouldn't like the Tudor! Please post a link to the new build on this thread.
Sorry, I got it mixed up, I thought you was the guy building a T Tudor, and did a Brock truck for his dad. My bad. Like the unibody. But it wasn't the right truck.
Haven't finished my chop on this thing yet because I have been busy with this build I started another thread for. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/a-on-32-rails.1000713/page-2#post-11342311
Taking a break from the A on 32 rails build to finish up the chop on the T. 1 side to go,the T is a little harder to chop then the A. I'm trying to get everything lined up nice taking lots of relief cuts! Just focusing on the outside stuff right now I will take care of all the inside when that's done.
Got most of my chop finished up tonight. Just have a little bit to go. And have to get the door tops done.
Finally got my windshield chopped today. I was sweating that. Got to take it on a drive for the first time in a long time too. Vision is not as great as it used to be haha
That rad and grille stuck way up in the air above the cowl looks awesome Beautiful, classic lines and flow of design
What happened to the idea of giving a young guy a pat on the back for keeping the car scene alive ? I can't imagine trying to tear down a guy who has it in himself to build a car from a couple bare pieces of tubing. Wtf?
If that's the result, he shouldn't have bothered. There is such a thing as well executed plans and builds, this isn't one. He was told early on that the body should not be that lowly channeled and he chose to carry on and you now see the results. He didn't care to listen to any help or guidance. It may not end up being a Rat Rod, but what do you get when you put lipstick on a pig ?
Lol it was already cut and welded up done I wasn't about to cut it all apart. I don't mind the way it turned out. Still fun to drive and I had fun building it. I just went with whatever when I was building it. But let's post some pictures of cars you have built 100% by yourself...
My current build. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...-up-build-thread.460009/page-25#post-11401253
Looks nice. I especially like the timeless look of the exhaust passing through the bigass hole in the frame. But at least the radiator sits good. Spring behind helps the radiator but I hate the look of no horns worse then a high radiator. How long have you been building this?
Started in 2010. Had a delay of at least 2 years for health issues. The exhaust through the frame is to help keep everything tucked up cleanly underneath. I'm definitely not the first one to do that. Much better than dragging the pipes on speed bumps or driveways. Not a lot of room when you want a full undercar exhaust that doesn't hang down . I wanted the drilled axle out front look and have recently switched over to a really nice front drum brake kit.
O Dustin settle down !!! we'er just messing with ya !!!! we know ya got talent!!! We KNOW ya got wide shoulders Ya built it in what? 2-3 weeks. Amazing!!!! . 'cept for high radiator..
