Tonight's "sneak preview" rocked...they even set up a slalom course in the basement for us to amuse ourselves with on the way out! Saw Autorama Bob and lovely wife Vicky working the "crowd" and keeping things running smoothly, and got early glimpses of The Lunar Lander, Death's Door Step and Clark's coupe (after some creative unloading practices!)...

...the drive home in the freezing rain was just added excitement!

    Detroit...Donut City!!

    :D

After my root canal appointment tomorrow at 11 AM (no, I am not kidding) I am planning to cruise down to COBO to help '62 wagon and any other HAMBer's finalize their cars/placement for the display. I most likely won't be around the rest of the weekend, but I was hoping the cars I had played some part in showed up, and got set up. :) At least...

Bryan with the "Space Herpie" is on his own. :) A nice looking Herpie by any standard, but I would have liked to pinstripe the stripes on the scallops nonetheless. I need to invest in some One-shot and a few good brushes. :)

Bry, Your car is the cat's ass...can't wait to see it amongst the other HAMBer rides...

Last I heard from Marc (Stickylifter) with the HAMB chop '50 Chebby that spent a lot of time at my digs, was that he was out of town from Sun-Wed...the glass guy for the front "Olds-style" windshield had "phucked him" by not having it done in time for this PAST weekend..., and I'm hoping Stickylifter makes it now, despite all our efforts to have the car "done" (presentible) in time for the show...His bodywork was presentable, but after it left my house, it still lacked windows all around.. He drove it home Red-Baron style, with goggles and a scarf...in 32 degree weather. HARDCORE!!!!

    MARC- CALL ME!

  5. This sounds fantastic! I think the HAMB part of this already great show will just keep getting better and better.

I hope you all have a great time.

My car MIGHT be able to drive in under it's own power...

If not, you bitches are helping me push it!:D

We'll just have to see how early I can wake up to wrench some more!

  7. Damn, I am staying in R.O. and was hoping to bum a few rides back and forth... My relatives aren't promising a car will be availbale for me to use all weekend like usual.

Greg is picking me up from the Airport about 1:15 and I think we are headed straight from there to Cobo Hall, but that might have changed since the 'Herp is already there.

Freezing rain, huh? I've always wanted to skid off the end of a runway...

You guys that are driving in please be careful, it's very icy in the Metro Detroit area right now. Hopefully they'll get more salt trucks and stuff out soon. The cookies are baked and all ready to go. I'll see you all down there this afternoon.

Is Foose's hot rod airplane thing there in the basement yet? I can't wait to see that... along with the HAMB rockstar cars!

See everyone there and/or at Denise's house! Our hotel is stumbling distance from her place. It might be the crashing zone for the drunk party goers... we have plenty of room. The 5 of us should arrive Friday sometime (assuming we don't get detained in Canada) and be at the show Sat and Sun.

Could someone do us all a favor and post a picture? I remember seeing the buildup pictures, I really want to see the finished car.

You may or may not like his style, but the man has some talent. Glad to see him build something like that car. Hope it doesn't have dubs on it. :)

I really love these headers. They seem very familiar too. I wonder where I've seen them before:confused:
