Inherited my 40 Ford Deluxe from my grandfather 20 years ago, he had built a SBC 327 with a Muncie four speed. I put up with purist rants for years but enjoyed the car because it was in my family for as long as I can remember. He built the engine, hand ported the heads, built the four speed with close ratio used parts and converted it to propane fuel from and old fork lift and it was his summer daily driver for years. I decided to make this old hot rod my own. I sold the engine to another guy that cleaned it up and put it in his 40 Ford so it lives on in a familiar fat fendered car. Sold my 2000 Indian Chief to finance H+H Flathead to build me a sweet little flathead with all the bells and whistles and hooked it up to a Ford toploader with a Jeep shifter. I think my grandfather would like what I did to his car and sometimes I feel him riding next to with a smile on his face.

    What a turd.

Just kidding. Cool car. What are you using for roof racks?

    Here's my dad's 40:

  4. Holy ****, a hot rod with roof racks.
Cool and practical at the same time.
I like it, and you don't see many rods now days with fishmouth (or whatever they're called) exhaust tips.
    I like em too.

Maybe more Ls under there than just the engine room...:p
    I think I sense more than a '38 Z'd frame...

Your cheating by throwing a little cutie in there. I would run into a burning house to get that pic out. Good looking car and welcome to the HAMB.

Thanks for sharing. Fun is what this old car thing is all about. How much of a Turd can an LS powered car be?

  24. Funny I couldn't tell it is an LS driven car. Maybe we should develop a don't ask don't tell policy.

I could not doubt find lots of things that I don't like about the car but what purpose would that serve. Welcome aboard, stick around and learn what you can and teach when you can. ;)
