image.jpg First load of true g***er parts. Most all of the parts came from Gary Blaseys 40' chevy g***er "little engine that could". Which he ran 1961 to 1973. A pro shifted t10 with me gasket vertical gate shifter and olds/Pontiac with 5.40 gears were a couple of the highlights.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Got all the excess fat&rust cut out. There's a lot of weight in the firewalls of these cars. This car had seen numerous engine swaps and many hacks.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I believe the axle is out of a 42 ford. I split the wishbone and drilled the axle. To me, a g***er has to have a lot of holes. The ladder bars I built out of 1.5x3 tubing. And machined heavy steel bushings and welded them in. I had to cut the rear wheel wells to accommodate the 31" tires. I also moved the reared forward about 2".

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg This was the first time the car had been on all fours in about 6months. Waiting on the back ordered cage kit. Once installed I'll fasten part of the car to the cage so I can cut the temporary braces out and install the engine.

image.jpg This is the motor my dad sponsored me to help the progress on the car. It's a 360" 12.5:1 out of his nostalgia pro stock vega. He also sent it with a old weiand tunnel ram.

Ill definitly be at the meltdowns but highly unlikely with this car. My dad is trying to finish up his Henry J g***er for it,but most likely we will return with his big block olds.

Im building the car to the SouthEast g***ers rules with the exception of the coil over shocks. At the time the coilover setup was cheaper and easier than running leaf springs.

Here's a shot of the pro shifted t10. It's had a lot of custom work done to ***ist in full engagement of every gear. The shift rods are even made of chrome moly. It's a nice piece that's survived many battles. image.jpg

  18. DANG CALEB! , you are some kinda stealth cat! Lurking around, then BAM!, check out all this progress! Way to go man! On the coil overs, just mount the springs, in buckets, next to the shocks. Donovan's Anglia is that way, then your SEG legal. I gotta do the same thing to the 56.

Here is another 55 g***er I found last week sitting in a field for the last 35 years or so. It was raced in the 60s in Mandan North Dakota.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Thanks panneton bros. Started fitting the tail section panels and got one welded in and added a skim coat of filler. These taillight panels fit like **** and were expensive. I had to pie cut them in about 8 places to recontour them.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Starting to fit the cage. I tacked angle iron to the main hoop to help aid fitting the tubes by myself. I havnt invested in any special rollcage tools, so everything was done with standard air/electric grinders and lots of trial fits. Once I get all the tubes tacked I will lift the body up 6" so I will have enough room to tig weld. I made a universal seat mount, so if the car ever starts getting fast I will adapt to a better seat. This seat came out of a real g***er.

image.jpg Sold the pro shifted t-10 to create funds for a higher horsepower unit. Clutch turbo with ram pressure plate and various Schiefer clutch discs. I didn't want a automatic "cuz there boring" and dreaded the huge expense of a 4 speed setup that could handle repe***ive abuse. So I'm hoping I have the best of both worlds now. I picked up a winters shifter to go with it.

image.jpg image.jpg Switched direction on the seat. The old school fibergl*** buckets with gas welded conduit frames were cool, but I wasn't satisfied. Made the seat mount out of 1" square tubing, the seat back will be fastened to the main hoop cross bar. I'm getting closer to being able to cut the temporary cross members/ body mounts out of the car as it is beginning to gain rigidity.
