trying to figure out if the linkage I ordered will fit, I think I'm gonna have clearance issues with the valve covers on the drivers side. What kinda linkage are you running? and pics would help alot. Thanks, Dan
Hey Dan............Littleman could probably help ya due to the fact he runs that set up on a SBC and a early hemi. Only one problem.......he's on his way to Detroit for Autorama. Hopefully he's checking his PM's. Hope this helps.....good luck
thanks guys, if you could email those pics to me at victorystudios@sbcglobal.net , that would be great, my aol account sucks ass. any one else?
thanks for the pics Drhotrod, but unfortunately I'm gonna have to run progressive linkage, all 6 at once will be overkill. The progressive linkage takes up much more space.
Littleman runs all of them at once, I have a eelco progressive linkage on mine with old alum finned covers.
hey youngrodder, that sounds like exactly what I will be doin, do you have any pics? I have offy valve covers, offy intake and eelco progressive linkage. did you have to modify the linkage at all?
The problem with running all 6 on an offy intake is the center ports have no ports to drop the fuel in the engine. You might be better off to run the outside 4 carbs with direct linkage and use the centers for dummies then you could run the direct linkage like i do. Just a thought.
I had the same issues. Made 2 rods that run the secondaries and hook onto the right hand side(stock ball thingys). Heres mine
Runs good, But I have to make some adjustments to the 4 outer carbs. If the R's are up and I mat it, it revs great. But from a dead stop if I mat it, it will fall on it's face. Always tinkerin........Mike
did you make the linkage? I guess i would need the pieces to fit over the ball ends on the passenge side of the carbs.
I had problems with them hitting so I called marty and he walked me though it and told me not to be affraid of bending them a little so I bent a couple rods to make things clear. I ran the center two last year but that is one of the things Im working on this winter.
We took a look at that linkage for the Chevy and came up with another design. If you have yours already it will work fine but we tried to simplify it anyway. I will post some pics when i get in the shop.
cool, thanks guys, I spent most of yesterday workin on it and got the most complicated setup ever, had to pillage a few parts from a speedway 3x2 linkage to make it work, but Suedesled, I'd like to see the simplified version, so I can see if theres an easier way. I cant test it yet, cause I'm not able to fire the engine up yet, so it's all in theory at this point.
