try Reliable Carriers. They have terminals in Canton MI and Sun Valley CA. The Canton ph# is 800-521-6393. I had ask these guys about a 54 chevy from LA to Lansing Mi and was told about $1200. Good luck.

I haven't checked with Reliable, but I will say this...
I got a quote of $1500 from Phoenix to New Hampshire from Horseless carriage.
I got a quote of $1045 from AAAdvantage, who I have used before.

thanks for the responses, but the plan just changed [IMG] i asked my dad why don't you just fly there and drive it back. he countered with lets make it a road trip. i said if your paying [IMG]. anyways long story short we are flying into michigan on tuesday picking the suburban up then driving down to kentucky for the nsra nats. and then leaving for home sunday. so at this point i'm pretty damned happy, never been to the nats before so i'm looking forward to it. anyways thanks again for the replies

I realize that your plans have changed but here is a transporter that I just ran across. You set your own price to transport your ride door to door. Sounds like you call for a quote and place a bid on empty space on any truck going your way. Who knows could be a real money saver ...H Check it out. http://www.yousetthecost.com/home.htm#

cherryblossom we're actually flying into chicago il. then getting picked up by some relatives from kalamazoo. the suburban is in grand rapids. it kinda seems like were gonna make a road trip just so we can pic it up, then turn around and drive south but it should be fun.
snapper thanks for the link, i'm going to have to remember that one. deffinetly sounds like a good way to save some cash

I did a Google search and got a broker that supplied 10 e-mail quotes ranging from 900.00 to 1500.00 for coast to coast OPEN carriers. The fully enclosed van trucks cost more. There is a surcharge for non-opperable vehicles. The truck needed a bath when it got here, but no worse than driving it across country. I paid the broker 125.00 up front (his fee) and the balance COD to the driver. I was pleased. Yes I went with the 900.00 carrier.

I transported my 4 wheels from SF to Boston using https://www.a1autotransport.com/. First time having to ship my car. Surprisingly, it was a breeze. Just had to drop off my keys at their office and make sure the tank was 3/4 full.

Hope your week has gone well!

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think that in the 11 1/2 years since this was posted he probably hot it to California by now.
