This is my first thread, so please be gentle.

I have a Kinsler BBC EFI unit that was made for Lighting Marine Performance in 1983. It's never been on a running engine.

Has anybody had any experience running one of these on the street? This unit was built in the infancy of EFI, hence the injectors being mounted up high, above the throttle shafts. I will be putting this on a 540. It has no IAC circuit. I am adding a MAP sensor. Will likely use a Fast or Holley controller.

I have been told the injector locations are likely to be problematic. Any info/suggestions/warnings would be greatly appreciated.

I have a later version. Call Kinlser, they are really helpful and support their product no matter what.
They even have a copy of my map from 20 years ago.

I have spoken with Kinsler before, and I will eventually send it to them to have it wet flowed before I install it. I'm just wondering if it's worth sinking the money into getting my unit into a usable configuration, or should I look at another unit.

    Thanks!

I think the injectors up in the stacks will work fine. They're doing that in formula 1. I'm thinking of using that mounting on my next conversion. Adding a MAP sensor will greatly aid tuning, otherwise you'll have to use alpha n method that is much less precise for the street.
