this post makes me so happy and its not even my car, lol, great job on the build, bet you thought this day would never come. Enjoy
Very, very cool man. Love everything about it, esp seeing it sitting in the snow. I, too, built my truck from the HAMB. Had never welded or even knocked out a dent but thanks to all the help here I got it done. Keep the pics coming and make sure and get pics if you get back to the original owner!
Good for you! Lotta love shows on this one. Only thing that stinks about a "first ride" is you only get one ( but what a feeling!!) Congrats big time. Mike from Mass.
Killer transformation! Very inspirational to us guys that are teetering on the edge of taking on a project like this. Thanks for sharing!
Leaving the driveway for the first time in something you built is awesome. Pulling back into the driveway still under you own power is even better.
it LOOKS like some of my cars I did but the FIRST RIDE IS THE BEST RIDE MY 34 5w/d was off the from 1958 & now the tires HIT THE ROAD 2015 & one I did OOoo yes
Wow good looker for sure. Nice to see another one saved from the grave. And i to have learned most of what i know about old School hot rods here on the wonderful world of the HAMB!
Great job to go from yard art to a running and driving hotrod in only 3 years. You need some time for the hammer and dolly to cool down! There is so much more satisfaction doing your own work.
great looking rod! The first time I drove my "39 Ford, I was happy just to make it back to the shop!! Have fun! i used lots of parts from Speedway also, saves money!
Damn, I cant wait to be able to say the same. You really have to be feeling pretty good about conquering all the building mysteries. A big piece of raisin pie for you. At 62 I decided to build a hot rod. Bought a glass 32 body on the cheap and a set of frame rails and with the help of the H.A.M.B., the internet and asking a lot of questions I'm on my way. The only way I buy parts is if I cant make them. Mine is a low buck build for sure. Read an article (still have it) in July 2007 hot rod about two cousins who built the same thing I'm building for a little over $11,000.00. A really nice driver. I'm hoping to do the same and so far I'm on track.
I wonder how many people thought" that dude will never finish that car" and here you are driving it three years later-awesome.
What a great story. Like you, I also used the HAMB for information, missing parts and ideas to build my 40 Ford truck. The guys (and gals) you meet on this site are genuine and really want to help the beginners like me. The amount of knowledge here is simple amazing! I hope you enjoy the hell out of the sedan.
Wow man going from what you started with to driving in only 3 years, WOW. You just proved that if you really want it, nothing can stand in your way.
