Maybe a quick question or a future business endeavor!

Does anyone make a 12v sending unit to mount in the fuel sight of a stock model a fuel tank?

I run the cowl tank on my roadster and am going over gauge and panel options. Thanks

Hey Slick! This sounds like a great idea! Do you think anyone has done this before?... (bump)

Hey Slick, It IS a great idea...'cause I did it about 20 years ago and it's still working great.
I used a '32 style dash in front of a stock cowl tank that I wanted to use. I used a set of Stuart Warner electric gauges and was able to use the gas sender by chucking it in a lathe and parting it off to the right diameter. That eliminated the mounting holes in the sender plate. Used the stock washers and seals to put it in after bending the float gauge wire to the proper location.
This is the type of sender. I don't have any pics of it cut down, sorry.

    Here's the finished dash
