More Fad T than it is a Modified. Not bad, but not early traditional. At least what I consider early, circa 1930-40. I'm currently working on a 26 T which I call a "modified". I'm gonna try to keep the newest part at 1948, except for a 1969 dual chamber master cylinder.
Looks like it isn't a Ford T body, but probably from the T era. For sure not a early looking build, but the H.A.M.B. cut off is mid 60's right? Not a modified looking T, but not really a fad T....sort of in between. Definitely not homogenized. I would probably run different headlights, but it sure looks like a fun hot rod to me!
Judging by the roll bar that's grafted into the upper roll of the body, and from what I can see where a door panel would be, it looks like the guy built a tubing frame/cage and skinned it out into a body, the tubing appears to also form the top of the dash. The firewall and cowl might be from an old body perhaps, but my guess is it's a completely formed body.
Hate to say it, but I'm on the fence over it being HAMB material or not. I DO like it though! I think the engine and front wheels are visually overpowering the car and confusing the look. A physically smaller engine and some mag wheels up front and I would be sold on it. I know one thing...its definately a car I would like to get a long, close look at. Theres a lot of interesting details and ideas in that one!!!
Is that a drag chute? I sure as hell hope it is. My wife says my opinion doesn't matter, that said I say it has the right pieces, the right color according to ****** and Denny and the right at***ude. I wouldn't kick her out of bed (or the HAMB). Speaking of which I'm turning in now before I get into trouble.
The only post H.A.M.B. parts that I can see on the car are the headlights. I think some super skinny Torque Thrust 5 spokes would look good on the front, although I like the look of the wheels on it now. The engine could be toned down with a log manifold instead of the blower, but the "HEMI" makes the car, and would have to stay! To my taste, this "T" is the slickest one I've seen in a while.
I'm going to call it HAMB friendly by way of the fact that the parts that make up the car are pre 1964 per HAMB policy for a traditional hot rod. I sure as hell wouldn't kick it out of my garage.
I would say that it fits in the Altered thread, I doubt that anyone would consider it a modified in the traditional sense but it is one helluva Altered Roadster. http://jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-altered-thread.1010937/
