Does anyone know how to paint numbers on the depressed area on the back of a plastic speedo lens? Without hazing the clear plastic. It is for a 59 Impala.

With a very fine brush and a steady hand.

I would say use transfer numbers but you would have to use them on the face - if you put them on the back of the lens they'd be bass ackward.

You might want to look into some of these new touch up paint containers that I have seen advertised. They have one end that has a ball point paint dispenser that may do the job in the depressed area. Color may be another problem.:):D

I'd use one-shot or some kind of enamel. Lacquer tends to craze plastic.

I did something similar once. I just went to a sign shop, found the font and size I wanted, and had the guy print me up some tiny stickers.

Wait a minite: are the *depressions* in the shape of the numbers? If so I'd say use a fine point Sharpe permanent marker.

  8. The last speedo I did, I just used sliver rattle can sprayed into the cap and a toothpick. Or if you want to go high-class, you could use a tiny model/hobby brush.

I had the same problem with my numbers. I used a paint pen then before the paint completly dried I wiped the execess off. About the haze. My lense had a bad area so I used some clear from a can, got rid of the haze.
