My master cylinder has both the brake and clutch pedals piviting through it. In my repair manual it says to remove the foward plug of the master and use a stiff wire to pull the pin out. Easier said than done. This pin is supposed to release the shafts of the clutch and brake pedal extensions. Anyone know a trick to take this pin out, because I cant seem to understand manual. Sorry i have no pics, its in a very akward spot under the car.

apparently it's easier if you pull the body off :)

sorry, I don't have one of those m/cs laying around to see how they really work.

I guess you bend a hook on the end of the wire? if the thing is rusty you probably won't get it out

  4. Once you remove the plug, there's a "t" shaped block that is behind it. If you have trouble getting it out, try pushing/ pulling the pedals towards/ away from each other as you pull on the block. Mine usually falls right out once I remove the plug. One other thing you might try, is using a small magnet.

What he said, but use alot of wd-40 or a lubricant like that. If it hasn't been greased in a while it's going to be tough. But be patient they do come out. Don't lose it, you have to use an original. Grease that dude up real good when you put it back in and you'll be alot happier next time.

if you can get your torch into the area you are working heat up pin area with mapp or oxy/actl. torch and melt some beeswax into pin area that should get pin to release. beeswax is the stuff!

I removed the woodruff key using a self tapping metal hex screw and a length of quarter inch drive extensions. I screwed it in until it was tight and it pulled right out. I had used a quarter 20 tap and screws which were recommended on this site and that did not work
