My Vintique mats came with contact cement and that's what I used. Worked as it should but be sure to use as directed.
Windshield adhesive from NAPA. Contact cement can loosen in weather and start peeling. Vinyl top may be fine too, don't know.
I went to the floor store , they sold me the stuff they use on commercial stair runners. Has been on there many years.I cant remember the name of it, but a good place to check. There's a guy on the ford barn who claims the gasket maker called "the right stuff" is the way to go,after squeezing some out and letting it set up,I think he may be right!
I agree with windshield adhesive. It certainly does not permeate with moisture and it does not shrink back in severe heat like we have in Texas.
