Hey guys, I got a 54 chevy truck with a 700r4 tranny. I am trying to determine witch yoke and universals I need. It seems there are several different options for length. This is a ground up build so I have no drive shaft yet. Guys at the trans shop seem to feel length is personal preferance.

They are correct. It does not matter. You have your driveshaft made to fit it.

I would choose a yoke designed to take the same u-joint that your rear axle takes.

  4. The local drive shaft guy can supply all yokes and u joints. Guy we use has a form for you to fill out. Answer the questions and he supplies you with a shaft that fits.
