    2016-01-29 20.19.05.jpeg Hello everyone, first post here.

    Hoping you guys could help me find a firewall brake pedal mount to put in a 1936 Ford?

    I have found a couple, but what I need to find or make is one that would allow me to place the master just to the left of the steering column while allowing the brake pedal to be located just to the right of the column??

    All through firewall units I have seen have a straight rod from pedal to MC. Is car manual or auto? Either way firewall will require bracing.

    Alternative solutions, buy a:-
    1. Conventional through firewall bake ***embly and fabricate a longer pedal to compensate for it being bent 2 x 45 degrees (It will become shorter when bent) to move it to where you want it on one side of column;

    2. Underdash brake unit as most have an offset brake pedal; or[IMG]
    3. 180 degree under dash ***embly, you would be limited by space and not be able to run a booster.

    Thanks, I was sort of thinking about fabricating my own custom setup, while hoping someone had already done it for me......

    Alas, sometimes life is like that. Have to think for yourself!

    Here is an early build picture of the pedal I made for my '36 pickup. 1 X 2 tube from the dash to the upper part of the
    firewall, a pair of 1/8 X 2 flats following the angle of the firewall slant and the master cylinder mount. came out to about 5 1/2 to 1 ratio. Works good. Needs no additional plating or bracing.

    If I was to build something like that I would attach the top of the pedal to a cross shaft positioned to the left as needed and a short lever down to push the master cylinder rod. Look at the clutch setup on a car like a tri five Chevy which crosses to the right and you can get an idea of what I mean.

    Gary,

    I would love to see some photos of how your setup looks like under the hood of your 36, if it's not too much trouble.
