Our calendar at work this month has a yellow car with non-opening doors with the dip to step over. The caption says it's a Coachcraft '39 Lincoln. 'Glass kit car or for real?

That's great! Glad you took our advice and put it up for sale. I knew there was somebody out there wanting it, it was just a matter of getting you two together. And good for you moondog13 for getting it!

This HAMB thing might just stick around a while! :]

Yep, yep, yep.... I can see it in root beer, wire wheels, straight 8 Buick for power, Briz bumpers, straighten the doors, padded and chopped white Carson style top, straight bar grille..... drooling a little already....

We're on the same page! Except, if a Nailhead turns up (seem to be easier to locate), it will get that, but I'm going all Buick on this build; I'm thinking Buick Lido Lavender for paint. :p

Yea that door cut is really similar, DM did it nicer though, sectioned body and that door cut followed the lines of the fadeaway fenders. Love them! Thanks Chris! :D

Not sure but it kind of looks like Captain Midnight's Buick from the tv show from the fifties.

Guys I spoke with moondog some more and found out this is his first Buick build!
Not sure if it's his first build all together but deff his first Buick one ,so if any of you guys have anything extra you don't need and want to do a pay it forward the man will need all the help he can get with it . I'm digging threw my extra stuff seeing if I'll have anything of assistance I can throw in for him . He deff needs a front seat motor trans gauges ,door hinges stuff like that . I think the owner was going to replace the old hinges with a set to make suicide doors so any help for home would be greatful as he's taking on a hell of a project. Also if you could post up junkyard s information for him so he has leads on parts I'm getting him a few but the more the better thanks guys

Be sure to forward some pics to Kustomrama, so they can add it to their "Lost and Found" section.

Lavender is a little too close to pink for my flavors.... I'll meet you half way and go eggplant. Nailhead works though. You might be surprised depending on the area, I've seen a few running 50's straight 8's go up for sale very reasonably because somebody was rodding the car with an 8. Transmission selection is more limited. Looks like we'll have a while to argue over the final details while you polish up on your body work and acquisition skills.

Well, I'm glad to see this project won't be scrapped. Seems the indecision would have led to that if Moondog didn't step in. Good luck with the build.

Hmmmm..... still not a fan of the lavender, but if I was going to do it, I would look for some trim to work along the side of the fadeaway fenders from the center of the headlights down to the rear fenderguards, using 2 guards per side to extend them up to meet the trim hopefully with a bit of shape and flare. I would paint the lavender above the trim and a darker shade of coarse metalic (or maybe even a fine metalflake) grey/silver below the trim. The wheel openings look a little messed up anyway, so I'd be tempted to cover the back ones with skirts. You should really get Moose or James D busy on those photos to help you develop a game plan, because you've got a long haul ahead of you, and you don't want to be changing things and doing them twice or three times on the fly.

Well it's 100% official moondog is the owner he drove up today and was nice enough to pay me for the Buick so the car will be making its way down to Miami in a week or so . I'm happy it's going to him he's a nice guy very excited about it so we should see some good things happen to the old Buick.

I hope you guys are happy I could of made a ton of money on parting it out . But I settled for peanuts to save this old rod! But now I can sleep at night knowing I didn't cut it up .so thanks all for stopping me sometime s I get carried away with the whole making a dollar thing

Hey guys! Couldn't be more excited about this purchase. I have a huge project ahead of me! I am currently trying to find any information about the car first before I dig into it (although it definitely wasn't a very important car, I am a very VERY curious person and like to know everything about everything I can). I emailed a couple of online movie retailers that specialize in old hot rod films to see if anyone recognizes it. I'm going to try and contact some film studios as well to see if anyone is willing to help in my search. I'll keep you guys updated.
