I am working on a 53 Plymouth Suburban and got the engine and transmission installed last night with help from my son and grandsons. Going to be a pretty straight forward plain Jane station wagon but did update the engine overhaul with an original Fenton dual carb intake and split exhaust. I am pleased with how it is turning out. What a nice setup for a straight six. Those are some pretty rare pieces you have. Don't know where you got them but it's a great find. Enjoy and show off that engine.

What a beautiful built engine. Love those period speed goodies.
The 218 L-head was a rugged reliable work horse, but you made it special. Congratulations to builder/owner!

That is going to sound amazing. 49-54 Suburbans are so cool... nice setup, any pics of the rest of the car?

Haven't done much with the body yet. Need to put floors in. I'll put photos up after I get a little farther along with it.

Old boy that ran punchboards around here in the mid '50s had a black overdrive equipped '53 Suburban, same stuff plus a Sharp head & Isky cam. Also had a bunch of heavy duty ch***is parts. He said there wasn't anything in Idaho would keep up with it until the '54 Centuries & '55 300 Chryslers.
