A thong on Star Jones!!??!! :-0 I did NOT need to read that, Jeepers.

FWIW, the term custom comes from customer. That would be the you, the builder. Do what spins your prop. But if finished off smooth the car would look nice with some plush seats and shiny paint. And white walls for a custom. Artillery wheels look *****en on your howitzer. You do have a howitzer, don't you?

Easy with the Star Jones in a thong comments guys.....I just got over the flu.

I think bombers would look hysterical in that car. Besides, how in the hell would anyone get in the back two seats???

I PERSONALLY think, buckets in the back like a 58 Impala would be KILLER and then run the console the whole length of the car into a custom dash piece. From there add a couple of low back buckets for the front.

I love dark navy blue, with ****er cream and a *POP* of red. Reminds me an old gangster movie or the **** Tracy flick with Warren Beatty.:D

  5. well it seems like it defetes the perpose of "kustomizing" you know? the point (at least to me) is to improve the car, and uncomforatble bomber seats don't seem to improve much.

That would look real nice. Buckets with a flowing center console. The colors sound nice also.

I don't have any tips for the car but so far I really like what you've done. That is a true custom and it'll look good in the color schemes you were talking about. I love it!

seats from a volkswagen bug are thin and dont take up much space. plus theres tons of them around. you could do 4 bucket seats and have a console in front and back. even if you ger late seats from a bug you can tear into the seats and hack off the head rest and the rest of the frame is identical....bad *** car!!! i think you should paint it with tons of clear coats and possibly glitter.

I definitely like the idea of four buckets and a full length console. If I do bomber seats, I'll build them myself, and they will fold flat so you can climb into the back seat. As for comfort, I think I might build one seat and ride around in it a bit before I commit to building four of them. I would do a padded seat bottom, but the back would stay bare metal, so we'll see how comfy that will be.

I almost have the car running, hopefully tomorrow I can fire it up for the first time in a year and a half. I spent the weekend building a pretty trick radiator support and hooking everything up. I'll try to get pics up tomorrow.

The whole point of kustoms was to make them cl***ier and more luxurious than they started out as. Bomber seats go in the opposite direction, whoch is the stripped down, no frills street machine. Like a hot rod. I love a nice big bech seat covered in tuck and roll for a kustom, but buckets work too. Grab the interior out of a Thunderbird with the 2 buckets in front, wraparoud buckets in back and a full length console. That looks bad*** too. Either way, you didn't cheap out on the killer body work, don't kill that ride with spartan interior

First of all it's kinda weird to see a chopped and bagged kaiser in the first place!!!! But I really like its way different which to me make's it !!!!! probaly ask yourself how you see the car in the end. If you plan on leaving it Unfinished and in primer or base coat forever then the bomber seats would look right at home. If you plan on driving it lots of miles or painting it, maybe an upholstered interior would be more correct. ltr Dave

i did my 454ss black with a red mica and got a burgendy
to match the interior when the light hit it just right
but if i had your car i would do the navy and clear it and the cream wheels with a bit of gold mica or flake
just my opinion but i can see it from here

I'd do it in navy, with ****ercream interior, maybe ****ercream scallops and red wheels with red lines around the scallops. Just to make things POP.
The interior I'd run ****ercream with a full length consol in red into a red dash.

Your car is Bad ***! I'm running newer mazada 626 leather buckets with the head rests removed in the front of my Merc, we cut the stock rails down to almost sit on the floor. Hopefully I can find a T-bird wrap around back seat.

So here's what I'm thinking...build my own bombers, and make a removable cushion that looks something like this.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

The last one is a vintage racing seat made by Kirkey. Looks nice, but its $270 for the aluminum seat, and another $135 for the cover. I'm gonna run four of them, so there's no way I'm dropping $1600 on seats. That's almost how much I have into the whole car!

Anyways, what do you guys think of this style seat?

Lowbacks are great.....but those like really spacey to me and I'd REALLY hate having something between my crouch. :D This is what I had in mind but in ****er cream.....can you see me pushing ****ercream? Hahaha:D I like them because they're comfortable, they sit low, have that great side chrome and are relatively easy and cheap to come across.

Brandy- Interestingly enough, my neighbor just offered me the lowback buckets out of his 67 mustang...that's what you posted there right? Now I just have to find 2 more for the back.

It's your car. Do it your way. Personally...I'd do the high-tech, lotsorivets bombers w/ a bare metal console and bare door panels swiss cheesed to all hell. Maybe even a hidden rollbar with holes in it. You've got the drivetrain (I roll a Caprice wagon daily), so why not do a hi-tech interior?
Another cool thing ya might think about....18 inch Astro van spare wheels. Tall and skinny. Paint them the color of YOUR choice, mount some salt-flats lookin' tires and go!

BTW......coolest Kaiser since Rocky Robertson's twin blown BBC black n' flamed coupe from the early '90's. But what do I know; I like hot rods more than kustoms.
