I am trying to rebuild a truck that burnt years ago and run into a problem, I got two new doors for it but the angle of the window post shows to be different. my original doors match the cab and with a angle finder they measure 75 degrees and the new doors are at 80 degrees. I don't see any kind of cut marks from being chopped or the post being angled. Was there different designs on these cabs? Can someone tell me what the correct angle should be. I am putting the angle finder on the cab at the center of the window post and the same on the door. Thanks for any help, Eric
There was a post a couple of weeks ago regarding the differences between 1935 and 1936 pickups. I understand that there is an early and late 1935 with respect to minor chassis changes and differences with the interior door trim. Additionally there are some minor front fender differences. While the cab may have warped, you will be well served to refer to that earlier post.
A couple years back on here there was a post that ran a long time with many pages on just the 35-6-7 differences. I still see it pop up now and then. It is an Extreemly Good post. Try the search function for it. I can't remember the exact name of it. Maybe Difference between 35 and 36 Ford trucks would do it. The Wizzard
I thought maybe it warped too, but Its exactly the same on the top and on the door on both sides. I wouldn't think it would be the same on both sides on the cab and the doors. And according to the other article the doors will interchange.
Can you post some pics of the doors? Also, do you still have the original doors? The 35 and 36 doors are a tad different, but they will interchange, I don't know about 37-up though. Here's the thread referred to above: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1935-1936-ford-pickup-tech-for-the-masses.236409/
here is the original door in the front and the new door in the rear, look at the angle of the window opening
