Did those original Mullins have a vin # or manufacturers # of any kind?

Yes, there were only several hundred of the original Mullins trailers built between 1937 and 1938 (I think).
They did have a trailer # stamped on an aluminum tag, middle of the rear frame rail, below the tailgate.

MercuryGuy might have to communicate if there was a VIN # on the trailer, ***le, or paperwork with his.

A 300 dollar Mullins Trailer should be a red flag but the guy that's selling it may not be the perpetrator of the crime. HRP

$300 was what he was hoping to pay for hauling not what he paid for the Mullins

Hopefully, if that's the stolen Mullins, the back tracking trail of the sale reveals the thieves.

Any closed circuit video of the Super 8 Motel lot? How much mileage between the Super 8 and the location where the truck was dumped? You could check every gas stop/convenience store security footage along the route to see if your rig stopped for any reason. Long shot, but could reveal a pic of them and possibly a debit card swipe.

Damn, it would be nice to see one of these situations get resolved and the thieves face some sort of justice.

I dream of sleeping in my trailer and when the thief opens the door, giving him exactly what he deserves.

...............Sounds sketchy for sure. Did you and the fellow who bought it from you report this most recent info to the police or have they pretty much relegated it to an insurance matter?

Yes they where. I does not seem however that they care that much. Probably over worked with new more serious cases. As the time drags on my friend told me he is hearing less and less on the status of this case.

Latest update. the guy finally sent me two photo's via text this morning. IT DOES not look like the same trailer in that the hitch is twice as long as the original( some guys extended the length of the hitch to carry spare tires etc) and It is hard to tell but it does not look like the original Artillery wheels on it. There is always the possibly that he sent me a photo of just any old Mullins but giving him his just do I guess we are back to the drawing boards.

UPDATE - Someone send me a PM from the fordbarn yesterday indicating that a Mullins for sale was posted in north jersey craigslist. Contact is listed as "Bobbie" phone number 973-427-4895. It looks a little beat up and some **** hanging from it But it sure looks like the one that I sold too Marvin Jackson in Texas that was stolen on his way home in SC. Anyone that knows Marvin might want to contact him. Possibly the sheriffs office in SC might want to follow up on this. Mercuryguy
