Question for you all. I'm installing the fuzzies for the door windows on my 37 ford coupe. I got the new channels in and the door side felt. The piece that is on the interior side of window frame. Does the frame need to be drilled and screws used to attach?

Yes, either small flat head screws, or pop rivets will work. I used pop rivets. The main thing is you don't want any metal fastener touching the gl***.

Thanks. Looks like I'll use the 40 mini flathead that came with the kit

Don't know on 37s but on 40's the fuzzy was attached to garnish moldings with staples. I make staples and put back the same way. As stu d baker said above, very easy to scratch gl*** with screws-no issues with staples.

I used a bunch of flat-headed pop rivets when I did them on my car. I drilled the holes and countersunk them and no contact with the gl***. I would love the see the stapler they used on those OG staples.

I would like to see it too!! I just run a very tiny drill thru the staple holes and make my own to reattach-time consuming but works well--have done it on at least 8-9 40's--just did one a couple of months ago.

Yep, those little Stainless staples are tough to work with, so far that is the best I've been able to come up with, maybe some type of 3M sealant but I would think you would have to make a fixture to hold the part in place until the sealant cured?

If you use the screws (which I don't) cover the heads with the sealant you mentioned and make sure they are seated deep and well into the fuzzy strip.

^^^Whatever fastener you choose, it's very important that the head of the fastener NOT be proud of the wisker material, i.e., the fastener needs to be buried down into the wisker.

I countersunk them into the fuzzy strip. No contact with the gl***. Put a bit of sealant on the heads. Tried the staple route and pin holes and was driving me nuts. Oh well its done. On to the running board covers

The anti-rattler strip on my doors is held on with black 3M adhesive.
