Dragmaster, near lane, racing Tets Ishimaru in the H&H Lincoln powered car, '58 Nationals. Both made the long tow from California, Dragmaster lost on a hole shot....here is another shot of the H&H car from Don Ewald's site:

I know this car has been posted in the past but I'm sure they have not been posted together and the picture with the push truck is extremely rare. I remember seeing the picture of this car on Popular Hot Rodding back in 1970. Everyone can relate to cars from the past you never seem to forget...this is one of those for me.

Yes it's a Bonneville car and yes it's a bit past the 1965 cut off but we have pictures of it on a drag strip and in motion... and for what it's worth - it's called "Motion 1" so... I'm hoping that provides some forgiveness

To plagiarize some editorial from the NHRA.com site:
Drag racing historian Bret Kepner said that the car was created by (Noel) Black and partner Bert Peterson at their B&N Automotive shop and was never designed to be a dragster at all. "It was purely a land-speed-record vehicle that because of its bizarre chassis and drivetrain configuration needed extensive testing, and the dragstrip was pretty much the only place to do it," he wrote. "Officially known as Motion 1 but dubbed the Rhinoceros when carrying its full body panels, the car crashed at 382 mph during the SCTA SpeedWeek event at Bonneville in 1970. Black died as a result of the crash."

It has been posted, several times....though some of the posts have been removed.....it only ran once on a drag strip to test it.....

I posted this picture on another forum and one member wondered if this was The Bounty Hunter. It was taken at St. Thomas, Ontario in 1963 or 4. Looking at what you can see of the rear body work and the engine scoop I wonder if the thought could have been correct. It was a NHRA point race.

I have seen the same picture and had the same question...here is another picture of the Bounty Hunter from Kalitta's Facebook page....

    kalitta.jpg
Scoop is painted black, cowl looks the same...windscreen looks the same...different headers, but that happened often....so I say yes, it is the Bounty Hunter...anyone else?

See 296 Ardun that is the problem when you give a kid a camera! I took that shot with one of those old Kodak Brownie cameras and I guess I was only interested in the motor. However if you look at the tubing for the roll bar it does seem to look the same in your picture and mine. I wonder, but I do think it is possible.

Tasca Ford, based in Providence, R.I., has been one of the most progressive dealerships in terms of fielding championship-caliber race cars including this 1963 LW.
