I finally got this heap around the block this weekend. Still, lots of stuff to do to get her ready for body and paint... The goal is to have her ready for the Top Speed Challenge at Maxton, NC April 8th. Wish me luck, -Abone.
Looks like a LOT of progress.......keep up the good work Jeff... Too bad Maxton is the same weekend as Charlotte AutoFair and the Drags in Reynolds GA........ Lots of choices on places to go......
Body and paint? Jeff, if you fuck up that great patina on that car, I will personally kick yer ass at the drags. You'll RUIN it! Looks absolutely wonderful as-is. Hey, BTW...Jack Chizenhall gave me and my brother a speed secret he used on his 241 MPH 53 champ. He drilled a series of 3" holes in the panel between his back glass and the decklid. It allows trapped under-car high pressure air to travel up to the low pressure area behind the back glass. Helps relieve the tendency to lift the back wheels off the ground at speed....
Don't Paint IT !!!!!! Love it... looks like one featured in Hot Rod or Car Craft a few months ago, when they actually went out-of-character and did a story on a couple of dudes in home-built rods.
What color ya going with? You piss me off with your progress, but you wait....I'm about to be MrNC v2 with garage. Things'll be a little different this time. Man, I wanna see this thing. I might try to make Maxton (and everything else...good to be back up here!).
I agree, Looks great just as it is, But it is yours and if you want ot do body work and paint, go for it. I'll see you there at Maxton. I won't have a car there but I am part of a team that will.
The stude looks great, cant wait to see it in person at MO-KAN. If this runs anything like your 'A' its gonna be a great car. Looks like you have two killer cars now! Great work!
Everyone knows shiney paint is more aerodynamic..... Great progress, i may have to hit Maxton to see it.... Hmmmm.... I wonder how fast my Duc would go.....

A little late noticing this. You have been tons of progress since I last saw that thing. Lookin good.
Hope it's OK if the Stude goes to screensaver duty for a week ! Would like to see the exhaust routing. Tend to agree with the folks on final finish - paint weighs too much, will run fine without it. You nailed it on this one, man ! Nice work ... 302
well if hes staying true to form id be putting my money on a big ole' pontiac with an undisclosed amount of inches and build specs
Way cool - that thing looks awesome. I heard it was rough when you started. I suppose this will nix you going to Charlotte - good luck man. What kind of tranny and gear are you running? what kind of speed do you think you're going to hit? It would be cool to hear what kind of stuff you've done to specifically prep for this event???
