I finally got this heap around the block this weekend. Still, lots of stuff to do to get her ready for body and paint...

The goal is to have her ready for the Top Speed Challenge at Maxton, NC April 8th.

    Wish me luck, -Abone.

Looks like a LOT of progress.......keep up the good work Jeff...

Too bad Maxton is the same weekend as Charlotte AutoFair and the Drags in Reynolds GA........

Lots of choices on places to go......

    :D

  3. every boy's dream car, well atleast this old man.

  4. Body and paint? Jeff, if you fuck up that great patina on that car, I will personally kick yer ass at the drags. You'll RUIN it!
    Looks absolutely wonderful as-is.
Hey, BTW...Jack Chizenhall gave me and my brother a speed secret he used on his 241 MPH 53 champ. He drilled a series of 3" holes in the panel between his back glass and the decklid. It allows trapped under-car high pressure air to travel up to the low pressure area behind the back glass. Helps relieve the tendency to lift the back wheels off the ground at speed....

Love it... looks like one featured in Hot Rod or Car Craft a few months ago, when they actually went out-of-character and did a story on a couple of dudes in home-built rods.

Hope it's OK if the Stude goes to screensaver duty for a week ! Would like to see the exhaust routing. Tend to agree with the folks on final finish - paint weighs too much, will run fine without it. You nailed it on this one, man !
    Nice work ...

  24. Way cool - that thing looks awesome. I heard it was rough when you started.

I suppose this will nix you going to Charlotte - good luck man. What kind of tranny and gear are you running? what kind of speed do you think you're going to hit?

It would be cool to hear what kind of stuff you've done to specifically prep for this event???
