  1. Thanks, a 3 inch chop and 2 inch channel is what in leaning towards, my plan is the get the chassis done then get the body on the frame to see what I have then decide where I want to go from there.[/QUOTE]
That is an excellent plan. Get the underpinnings right then decide what needs to happen to make the rest of it right.

Too many guys got it backward, for me and mine first you make it go then you make it show.

I got the front end hung today, and front breaks , I ordered the wrong breaks for the rear so will have to wait on that but I guess some progress is better than none!

Its been almost a month sense my last up date I have been busy, got the rest of the front end complete, dropped in the mock up motor, the new trany, Vega steering box and master cylinder. Plumbed all the brake lines, just waiting on the line clamps to come in to tighten everything up. Next week the body goes on the frame.

It is looking great. I am at about the same point on mine. I am very happy with the Riley Automotive frame. Have you built any floor yet? How much channel are you planning?

Thanks not yet, I'm going to put the body on the frame next week and see what I got. I was originally thinking a 3 inch channel but I may just leave it and chop the top 3 inches. I will decide when its on the frame. I've looked @ every pic I could find of cars with this frame and I like them both ways, but it shard to tell in pictures I have to se all he angles. I bought a Bead Roller an started messing around with it I will post pic as I go.

I got mine on tonight. I am going to get started on the channel and floor this week. I will get some pictures on the build thread tomorrow. I need to figure out what I am going to do with the firewall. I need to channel it. I don't like seeing all that frame.

Wow it was a long day, but I got the Body fitted. Now that I see it in the frame I don't thing I need to channel it. I like it just the way it is Old Skool look go with a 3 inch chop and it will be just right.

  13. Just found your thread, a 3" chop would look perfect.

Making Progress, Got all the floor braces tacked in Sheet Metal cut for the floors and the tranny tunnel made. Got my seats from Lenard's Speed. Got some work to do in the fire wall and then bead roll the floor pans before I blow it all apart and do final weld on the braces.

Made a lot of progress this weekend, painted the trans, installed the manifold ,balancer, pulley's, and flex plate. Then the torque converter and trans dropped it all in and topped it off with the carbs. Don't like the air cleaners but they came with the carbs so I guess they will due for now.

Time for some metal work. I welded in the floors and fabricated the fire wall recess and trans tunnel. This is my first time doing anything like this. im glad I didn't start with the fire wall because I sure learned a lot by the time I got to it. but like a friend of mine said, you don't have to be a great welder if you are a great grinder.

I finished of the floors with some seam sealer and then bogged in the rear quarters. I think in starting to get better @ this welding stuff it has been a great learning experience.
