I'm thinking the 49 Cad was the first car that had a hidden gas filler behind the tail light. Was it? For other cars that had hidden gas fillers other then behind the license plate, 56 & 57 Chev and 57 Olds only come to mind. There must be others, I just can't think of any. If you know of one or have a picture of one please post it.
60 caddy was fun to find, in the middle of the rear "grill". I bet there were other caddys too. lots of 60s-70s gms had them behind the license plate.
My '57 Cadillac had behind left tail light. '56-'57 Continental Mk IIs had them behind left tail light as well
Just found this. Cadillac in '41 and more http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...ith-hidden-gas-filler-necks-what-mfgs.686876/
Great to know a Chevy guy knows that, October 1908, the first of the 15 Million hidden gas cap cars rolled off the ***embly line. The feature was so missed that Ford brought it back in 1932-34 for use on truck cabs. Bob
Ford put them behind the tag starting in '52, except for station wagons and sedan deliveries which had them behind a door on the left quarter panel.
