Hey guys, looking for my dads old Anglia gasser, believe the car was a sold late 60's and the car went to southern Minnesota. Was painted Maroon/red. Had a 289 hipo, 4speed. Fiberglass tilt front. Will pay finders fee if car is found! Thanks everyone. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I used to see a similar car at the Vinton, IA car cruise. About the same color and lettered "Cookie Monster' with the Sesame Street character painted on it, too. Maybe another eastern Iowa HAMBer knows of it? I haven't seen it for a while. Gary
Wow that'd be sweet if it were in Iowa! I'm hoping the car didn't get wrecked or turned into a street rod. I've ran the plates with dmv and they aren't registered to anything.
Gary, the only Vinton area Anglia's I know of are Dale and Linda Riha's. Maybe they know something. Sorry, I don't have any contact information.
There was a Ford powered red Anglia around Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls WI. in the early 80's. Owners last name was Connell.
Riha's maroon Anglia is the old "Cookie Monster" car. I don't think it is the car the OP is looking for. IIRC Riha's car has a steel front end and back in the 70's-80's it ran a Pontiac 400.
Search still on, neither cars were this one. My dad thought a rich farmer kid bought it and it went to Minneapolis or maybe more south back in late 60's. Anywhere else I can put the ad out there? Someone would remember the car is think Thanks a lot guys! I'm hoping to find it in the worst way
Bump, would love to find this car. But would be interested in finding a replacement also. Any Anglia gassers out there??
In the early 70's there was a Anglia in St James (So Mn). It was metallic brown with Lacey multi color flames. Racking my brain at the moment on his name...I will have to ask my Dad. Might be the same car? I think there may have been a maroon or burgundy metallic Anglia from Lemars Ia or Sioux City Ia as well.....This may take some more research. Rocky Faye(SP?)
...........Just remembered his Name. Look up Bruce Falk in Mountain Lake Mn. He will know if this is the same car.
There is an Anglia locally I want to track down.....This may be a good reason to. I think it was Burgundy car as well, I think was in process of getting the chassis redone. I'll do some checking.
One of the Anglia Clubs' newsletters was taken over by Phil and Dee Morris some years ago. It is now a very nice magazine called Gasser Wars. Morris Motorsports Printing in Snohomish, Washington is where it is created. I think that is still a great connection to Anglia fans. Try Anglia Obsolete, also. Dean Kirsten is Mr. Anglia and might be a good person to help in your search. Earnest McIntyre publishes Gasser Magazine in Phoenix and it is not just for Willys anymore. Best of luck.
There was a guy in So St Paul , MN that had a maroon Anglia in the late 70's -80's ??? If important, I can ask around.
The Brown with flames car was in Rochester in the late 80's. Owners last name was Hyke. SBC powered. I almost had that one.
This car was sbf powered, 4 speed with olds rear. Fiberglass tilt front but my dad put the trim on side of hood. Rear fenders uncut (probably diff than most) and sat higher in rear than most Anglias. Flat aluminum dash, and ford mustang seats. Really hoping this car is still around ! Thanks guys
I know a guy In South Sioux city who has a Anglia. I haven't seen the car with my own 2 eyes but he talks about it alot I'll report back Sent from my SM-N920V using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Good luck with your search...I too am looking for info on my 66 L72 Biscayne from Duluth MN and was raced extensively at MN Dragways back in the day. My apologies for the thread drift....
