Seems like every coupe has a rotted out channel..at the bottom corners some genius cut out some of mine , I want to duplicate ...can I get a U channel off the shelf or what ...comments please
Been awhile since I have looked at one, but I think that could be fairly easily made up with a brake and shrinker stretcher.
depending on your model, sometimes the factory only put a weatherstrip channel on 3 sides (rumble seat models) coupes with trunk lids i belive had a channel on all 4 sides the ems guy
i think you are going to have to make something. as need louvers said , it shouldn't be too hard to make something. my `36 had a truck lid and parts of the channel were rotted and hacked away. some 18 gauge , a brake and a shrinker/stretcher and it's as good as new make sure you put in the drain tubes
I am in the same situation with my 36 five window. Seems like you would form "U" shape in a brake and then use the stretcher to form the arch matching the quarter panel
My 36 was a rumble seat 5W coupe, the seat back/deck lid had the drain trough cut out by the factory at the back of the opening, this allows for the decklid to swing back. I turned mine ito a trunk so as stated above I formed mine with a brake and worked it with a shrinker strecher, but I made mine in 2 pieces to get the proper contour, then weled it together on the bench installed 2- 5/8 inch drain tubes and used 5/8 heater hose to exit throught the new floor that had rotted out because there was no place for the water to drain through the old floor.
It's a curved u shape with unequal legs. You'll be needing a hammer form. Here's the channels, trunk opening to 1/4, and deck lid frame.
