looking for help identifying this this odd ball fog light. No markings. No stamps. 12v, halogen bulb. I want to use on a project but won't if it's not of the proper era. Forgive my post if this ends up being way later but the housing and internals are somewhat juxtaposed. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Interesting for sure but, I have no clue as to it's origin. You know that there actually was a Cats Eye Auxiliary Lamp 5027 as seen on my '40 in my avatar photo. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Thanks for the info fellas. It certainly does resemble the later PIAA. It is projection But I feel like they're significantly older. The only close reference I found were these utilizing the same bulbs. Other than that no markings o the housings. JF872 SAE F-96
Could be PIAA. that would make it new sometime in the last 25 to 30 years. What is the housing made of? Anyway, it could make a nice bright back up light. -Dave
From the corrosion on the housing it could be make of aluminum and looking at the tube coming out the bottom, I presume for wiring, it looks waterproof. Did boats have lights like this?
The bottom rubber tube seems to be more of a vent or drain. I pulled the cloth wires through a different rubber fitting. The housing is like potmetal but I'm not certain.
Depending on bulb type it is atleast post 1962 H3 would be post 1966. Probably 1990's by the looks of it. Unless you are restoring a 80's Honda Accord it has no value. https://www.kriss.com/bulbdesignhistory.htm
