Technical White Wall Tires Recommendation

I am sure this info has been discussed a lot, any previous thread links appreciated. 1939 Mercury with original running gear, need a good highway white wall tire as this car gets up to speed on the freeway! A few hundred mile roadtrips are not out the question for this car.

 

Diamond Back of you want radials.

 

Dad is just now doing the same for his '40 Merc. He's getting wide white radials that look like bias ply. He wasn't sure to go 6.00 or 6.50. I said 6.50.
I'm sure he is going through Coker.

 

Coker cl***ics for radials,fire stones for bias, would look good.

 

Diamondbacks are the best for Whitewall radials...

My Diamondbacks are made on Cooper tires and I'm extremely happy. They made the wide white 3/8" narrower than the standard used in 1956 and the look great.

Some like the diamond back,I don't like the white wall being vulcanized to the tire,I had one split.

I prefer bias ply whitewall tires. HRP

 

Anyone have experience with Royalton white walls? They make a tire with the exact white wall width and overall diameter I need.
