I was thinking about this the other day. Finally warmer and I can work without having the kerosene heater going. I find myself out almost any day of the week, even if it's a minor task like cleaning or sorting parts. So far the past 3 days I've got about 18 hours in. Sunday was an 8 hour day.
I'm putting in as much as I can. Last weekend I put in almost 18 hours in 2 days and will probably get that much this weekend. The tripower is giving me fits and it has to be done this weekend so I Can get exhaust on next week. It's amazing how new parts can be so much trouble. First car show is May 7th so there will be a lot of long days in my future.
On average, probably only an hour or so a week... However, in times that I am trying to get something ready to go on a road trip or something, likely 4 or 5 hours a day during the week and 12 or so hours a day on the weekends (or until I start sensing I am spending too much time away from the rest of the family...) This story will change once I can start working on my boys project cars soon. Otherwise, there is no way they will be driving them by 16. I have two pasture vehicles to build in the next 4-5 years.
Since fall, I've probably been n the 15 or so hours a week. Hour or 2 each night during the week, handful of hours each day on the weekend. Heated/air conditioned shop helps a lot.
I'm in final ***embly and need to get it insured soon. Plus de-bugging that goes with a new build. I need to drive it to sort it out. My normal winter schedule is Saturdays, Monday evening and odd times. But the cold is what slows me down in winter. Be lucky to get in 8 hours some weeks. I can work in the heat with pool breaks.
Being retired, anywhere between 30 and 50 hrs per week. Shop is heated and air conditioned, so weather does not affect me. Now the trips to Walmart, grocery, vet, or other errands with my wife do affect my time. Road trips in hot rods also does, but that is a good thing.
less than an hour a week. = [ I do have enough space in the garage to work on it now so that will likely change in the near future.
I do about 48 hours a week most weeks. The main job, they'd chain us up if they could. Always nice to have $$ for the cars.
Zero as of late, but when I was building the wagon few hours every afternoon, all day Saturday and sometimes Sunday HRP
Every chance I get. I still work and commute during the week but when I'm home I don't watch tv or hunt or fish. My shop is my "happy place" I go to decompress from the rest of life.
Not nearly as many as I'd like. This last week was less than an hour. Lately, I've had all kinds of things thrown into my daily schedule that push my car time back. It's funny, I've been busier in my semi-retirement than I was when working 60+ hrs a week. The wife says I'll have to get a job to get a break!
not enough is my answer, young kids keep me busy. It takes about one day at work to pay the garage rent each month, and I problably spend ten hours a month working on the car.
I know how it is to have a couple little ones at home. I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old . My wife and I work opposite shifts so im Mr. Mom at night. Plus she works every other weekend. The weekends she is off I spend all the time I can working on the wagon. Usually around 8-9 hours a day.
I have a couple of nights where I do machine shop work, aside from that I can squeeze some time in pretty easily. My brother stops in some Saturdays and Monday nights. I do odds and ends, round up parts and get things ready during the week. I'm on a roll now I can work outside. I have claustrophobia and have issues going under the car in a closed garage. Lucky that 99% of the work has been on the top side lately.
Currently 0 (back to work), but last week I did spent over 12 hrs a day working FOR the car, building a 1/2 car garage, cant believe I'm final getting to the end of it.
Well... she hasnt said anything much expressive till now but I can see water boiling and the steam valve ready to go!
Ive been putting in probably 10-15 hours each weekend and another 10-15 hours during the week after work for the last 3-4 months. Im finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
With some luck, hope that's not an oncoming train. I'm getting closer too, I can drive the car in and out of the garage. Now we're down to getting it completed so I can take insurance pictures, get insurance and get it registered. Today will be an easy day, I have another cold and my back is killing me already.
