To the best of my knowledge it was an early rod that Con Mantzaris bought of a car lot, it had a Flathead then and was red. He did some clean up work and sold it on. I think Chris Michell from Geelong then owned it. Gary Baum from Geelong rebuilt it to what the photo shows and later sold it to someone in South Australia. It later came back to Victoria and Bob Skoglan (spelling?) owned it in the Essendon area of Melbourne. Tim McSweeney then owned it which is when I knew it but he didn't do much and it was still not running when he sold it on. This was about 1985. Last I saw it was in the Melbourne rod show a few years later entered as unfinished and it was fitted with an FE Ford engine . There would be a few other owners in between and I'm sure others that can fill in the gaps.

  4. *****in' car. Very similar to Lynn Arrowsmith's coupe, another of my favorites. 1LynnArrowsmith.jpg

    Thanks for the bump

  7. So did Ashley Ward rebuild it in metallic green with tunnel rammed Windsor?

  10. I thought it might be this one, but all I see is lots of difference, looks like a different car. Only things the look the same, at a glance, are chrome garnishes inside & maybe seats?

  11. If it's the one Tim had, he sold it to my brother Terry who then sold it to Mark Plumber. Don't know who's got it now but I was told this was it at Yarrawonga!

No Wayne, the black one that Tim sold to your brother was the other one he owned at the same time which had been a Spades car and before that it was Bruce Borlace's (was yellow then). When Tim sold the blue one above it was much the same as the first picture except run down and partially dismantled.
