Mine is in process but I hope to have it on the road as soon as I can. Owned since '98 and finally got round to turning into a traditional styled Kustom. Yes, it will be a painted Kustom. No offense to any suedes out there but I sure hope the fad dies. Pic of her in '98...

Thanks TheFrenZ! Yes, it is from a Riviera good call. I am going to cut and use the rounds to mimic the Hirohata style grille. I'll post some more tomorrow when I get my front wheel on!

HOK Kandy Green Basecoat. It's much darker than the true Kandy Green and I've never seen it on a shoebox let alone a Kustom. I have the engine compartment already painted with it but I'll have to get some pics of it on here. I love Brandywine, Maroon, Black, and Candy Red but it's so safe and common. This green is really a deep organic green and I know it will stand out without looking like a sore thumb.

That's probably the best '53 I've seen. Did you sell it to Cisneros? Was he the one that painted it?

When i look back at all the shoe box Fords i had a chance to buy over the years, and passed up because they werent "the flavor of the time" i could kick myself square in the nutz!!! Nice lookin car "crusader", cant wait to see it in the green. Will that base then just be left uncleared so that you get a satin , or are you trying to turn the tides and are going heavy clear?

This is a Sandiego car. Entirely built by the owner, and I was priiledged enough to spray it and lay down the flames.

He will probably be striping my car as well as hooking me up with a painter. I wish I could get this to VLV but there is no way I can get it ready in time. I have to finish the dash, a little floorboard work, door poppers and latches, work on the windows...etc. I'm currently looking for a mobile glass guy right now. I want someone that knows what there doing with glass to set mine up. I don't care about the side until it's time to get ready for paint but I really would like to be ready for paint sometime in April.

The tides must be turned Hip! Kustoms should be finished and that means paint jobs that shine and look like they are 100 feet deep!! I'll be glad to do my part!:D

Paso is a good target! As long as the paint is done and she's back on the road I'll be there. Even if it means I'm staying at a hotel 100 miles or more away!

Nice, I like the flush skirts. Are those Merc shells making up your grille surround?

Thanks Mike! Yes, the grille shell is from a 50 Merc. I wanted to have the grille opening part of the hood as opposed to separate because you don't see too many people do them like that.

I really like that pic.Very cool car, also like the skirts and especially their shape.Really adds speed to the whole look. That's why I use '49 Merc skirts instead of '51's.Maybe extended an inch, not sure yet.Front end with two Merc grille shells is also cool and can't wait to see the grille fabbed from the Riviera bumper. It's not period correct since it's from the mid 60's but hey,if it's gonna look good, why not ? Great car,I like it.
