I might be wrong here, but I don't think so! I think this proud daddy is building a family car! A hell of a nice one at that!! For such a cute BABY. haha okay chick moment over.
thanx folks - glad you like the work will post even more step by step oics till the car is done -- I'd like to drive it next spring - leadsleadolds -- the pit was done by myself -- but I think I'd never do that a gain -- what a hell of work - brr incredible - had to put away all the ground with my hands (no tractor or something like that) its ~17 feet long and ~3 feet width - but had to put out a lot more to built it - poncho62 -- the brakes are a kit I bought by harmons (incl. dropped spindles, main cylinder , booster, comb.valve, calipers...)--- was easy to change and they are workin great (but wait - what can I say till now ) --but I know a disk set for ponchos are realy expensive
after 5 months of welding, grinding and all the stuff I'm ready for the painter --the "inside job" I did myself and 2 days ago I brought the 58 to the painter -- wow hard time to wait a whole week to get the car back
OH MY GOD! You louvered the dash!! I think I'm in LOVE. This car just proves that 4 doors can be just as sexy as 2 door cars ANYDAY.......now to get mine finished. xxx
Fantastic!! Man, that '58 is lookin' fine. Always was partial to that body style. And I love more-doors.
HELL - I got the lady back aaaand I'm happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is worth the 5 months of work (all that grinding...grrr) -- not perfect but she's looking great but - just take a look I couldn't resist - I had to mount the new tires, fender skirts and the lenses
this whole project makes me want a 58 real bad. the two tone looks awsome. keep up the good work and i cant wait to see it done. JR
Hey buddy, glad to see these pics! It´s amazing to see how well it turned out! It´s even more amazing for me because I knew the car even before you got it and I can´t believe what amount of bodywork was done to this car. To all of you who didn´t know it before: It was a pretty rusted Canadian car nothing what one would call a "no brainer". Awesome! That´s one hell of a job! BTW, Rainer, the rest of your parts came in today. I´ll bring them to your place on 24th/ 25th.
wow. what a fantastic job. congrats That is looking the tits. I got a four door and a kid and i love em both
glad you like the car -- the last 3 days I spent 35 hours -- oh yea - a hell of fun -- never grinding and all that dirt work on THAT car - it's only fun working on her now 1shot of the dash
Awesome Rainer. You are the fastest car builder I know. The painter did a great job. The colour looks very good, when you told me the combo last time I visited your place I can't realised that the combo looks so great. Best family car I ever seen.
Wow........The paint makes it look like a big donut with chocolate on top, man I'm hungry. Beautiful car.
Love it. Makes me wanna go home from work and tear into our '58. How'd you find a painter to get your car back so quick?
I wish I could get the time away from the child to really get some time in on my car. My Building is much slower now. I really love the color combo you chose. I was going to do an antique white (off White) for my two tone, but I might have to do i touch more cream after seeing these photos. -Sobastrace
door panels are done, wireing for solenoids, the solenoids (all 5 ) chrome stuff front and rear sobastrace - let your child work with you )
