1949...the new car culture after the end of World War II in full swing as Los Angeles has drive-in fever...even a drive-in liquor store
I gotta tell you that drive-in bottle shops are an absolute staple in Oz - just about every pub has got one and there are plenty of standalone examples around the place.

    Chris
I've heard that term many times over the years.
I could Google it, but better if I hear what that means right from the source, so to speak.
A car crazy kid growing up in small town America didn't allow much chance of seeing anything exotic in the early 60's. But my first sighting was of an E-type about 64.
One of the wealthier men in town had one, but must have been his fair weather car only because I never got to see it very often (rains a lot in Oregon) and by my memory it was silver, I must have been only ten years old, but I knew I had stumbled on to something pretty cool. That is until I saw my first Corvette, and boy it didn't take long to forget about that Jag. The Corvette (62), ended up being owned by the son of one of my mothers' friends but he was away at college and it was quite a while before a first ride materialized. I was hooked.
Thanks for jogging my fuzzy memory.

I wonder if the designers thought this was a consequence of the cheap-arse swing-arm rear suspension, or whether they just hoped it would go away and no one would notice?

This was a test to show the effects of not having the front anti-Swaybar by GM

So many building don't last beyond 30, 60 or 100 years, cheaply built and maintained.
