I'm looking for any info on the Ray Andregg 27T as it looked when it tied with Blackie Gejeian for the 1955 AMBR trophy.

I know about the Von Franco clone, but I'm looking for info on the original. Any info would be appreciated.

There's a few few photos in Andy Southards book of the two different styles.
Hot Rod did an article on the early version. Car Craft did one on the later version. Not sure what issues... Too lazy too look...

  5. A good friend of mine owns that car. He was planning a restoration but Von Franco beat him to it with the clone.

Didn't Anderegg have the modernized version in recent years?

  7. Someone in Cali had in in the early '90's when it was featured in R&C. My buddy bought it after that and it's sitting in his garage now - unchanged from when R&C did that feature.

He should restore it to the 1955 AMBR winning condition- with the flathead and yellow paint- different than Franco's later version beautiful recreation.

  9. According to the Feb '92 R&C article Ray sold it in the early 60s and bought it back in 1977 and he had it rebuilt. The rebuild retained the early look with some modern updates 2x3 frame, coilover rear shocks, alternator, braided lines and it was painted red.

Thanks, Von Franco. You have a beautiful car! I looked it up in Bertilsson's 'Rod and Customs' and TRJ #17, after I saw a reference to the Andregg T in 'Hot Rod Milestones'.

I'd really like to see the original in person. Maybe someday it will be restored to its original '55 AMBR condition. Thanks again guys. I'll say it again; the HAMB is the BEST:D

I have the ORIGINAL frame, (Thank you, Ray) and everything to restore the car to Oakland AMBR 1955. Car will be 'pale yellow' as then, a faithful restoration. Body will be exact, as will the original '41 Merc rear, '39 trans, and '50 Merc reversed wheels, and correct Firestone tires.
Flathead will be installed for 'special events', (like a visit with Blackie for a photo shoot) but the 283 Chev will be the underhood engine used for driving.
And NO, the project is not for sale.
