Its no longer a rumor , the legendary Amherst , N. H. flea market is opening May 29 and will run the last sunday of each month until the last sunday in Oct. Fliers are being sent out now. For info call 603-883-9924 ex. 323 the contact person is Lauren. It will be run to honor the late Werner Carlson. For all of us that loved Amherst we should really support this event, because there was never anything that could compare with it . Of course it will be in the same location and starting at the break of day. See everybody there.

I actually received a vendor application today from a long time Amherst vendor. I also got the story, or a story, behind what's going on. It seems Werner's family has sold the property to a RE. developer and the plan is for 42 homes to be built on the property. So, the story says that the town of Amherst told the developer it could take up to 3 years for all the permitting and approvals for the development, so the owner is running the swap till then. Is this true? Who knows. Sounds plausible.

Does anyone have contact information for that coffee vendor???

  7. It sort of returned, hope its better next month. Lots of empty vendor spots and whining about vendor fees being to tall. I will try it again next month.

I will say this, Even if it was only 1/4 full and it was more expensive than before, it was truly like seeing an old friend that you thought you would never see again. I also want to say that I know that it will get better with every p***ing month. So all you naysayers ought to give it a chance and the ones who squark about the price increase, think about the scratch tickets that you throw out the window every week. I hope to see the true die-hards there next month. This is just not any flea market , it is a reunion of sorts and it had a tradition of over 50 years and thats saying something. Tommy Caruso.
